Escondido

Crowned by majestic mountains offering spectacular views and sunsets, Escondido is a city of many facets. Enjoy a stroll downtown on Grand Avenue and visit the many art galleries, art studios, antique shops, restaurants and cafes and the California Center For The Arts. Downtown events include weekly Farmers’ Markets with fresh produce and flowers, summer Friday nights with Cruisin’ Grand showcasing classic cars, and, during the holiday season, the Christmas Parade, Jingle Bell Cruise, horse & carriage rides, strolling carolers and jazz concerts. After a morning at one of the many golf courses, enjoy a wine tasting at Orfila Winery or one of the many other wineries. If you enjoy fishing, boating, hiking, biking or trail blazing, explore Lake Hodges, Lake Dixon or Lake Wohlford! There are many challenging trails at Daley Ranch too! Spend a day at the San Diego Wild Animal Park on Escondido’s eastern border. And, don’t miss “Christmas at Canterbury” October through December at Canterbury Gardens in south Escondido. They have a spectacular display of decorated Christmas Trees, Dept 56 villages with trains running through them, holiday gifts, crafts, food and decorations!
